Time for a System Upgrade

Important Updates to Our Online Tournament System: Enhancing Stability and Access

As we continue to refine your experience with our online speech and debate tournaments, we are excited to announce several critical updates to our platform. These changes are designed to improve stability and streamline access, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable tournament experience for everyone involved.

1. Important: Changes to Accessing Help and Judges Rooms: Please be aware that the old links for the Help Room (8x8.vc/NOFhelp) and the Judge’s Room (8x8.vc/NOFJudges) will no longer function. To access these essential resources, you must now use the new buttons on the tournament registration page. Look for the action tabs marked ‘HELP ROOM’ and ‘JUDGES ROOM’ on the left side (refer to the action tabs image below for a visual guide). This update is crucial for seamless access to these rooms and cannot be overlooked.

Here are the action tabs on the left side of the registration page.  Note the two additions: Help Room and Judges Room.

2. Reminder: The Versatile Squad Room: While the Squad Room has been a part of our system for over a year, we want to remind you of its invaluable role. Apart from viewing room assignments and ballots, the Squad Room also provides links to the Help Room and Judge’s Room. This feature ensures you have all necessary resources in one place, enhancing your tournament experience.

3. Enhanced System Stability: Our new system is not just about improved navigation. It also brings enhanced stability, significantly reducing the chances of participants being locked out of rooms. This update means that you no longer have to wait for an administrator to log in for access, allowing for uninterrupted participation in the tournament.

We understand that changes require adjustment, but we are confident that these updates will make your experience more efficient, stable, and enjoyable. Your feedback is always welcome as we continue to improve our platform.

Thank you for your continued support and participation. Here's to another successful round of speech and debate!
