Forensics Finesse
A New Schedule for National Online Forensics
We are excited to introduce a significant change to our tournament schedule that we believe will enhance the overall experience for everyone involved. After careful consideration and feedback from our community, National Online Forensics is proud to present a revamped schedule designed to make our tournaments more efficient, engaging, and accommodating. Here's a closer look at our new schedule and the reasons behind this decision.
The New Schedule:
Round 1: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Round 2: 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM
Round 3: 1:15 PM - 2:45 PM
Elimination Round 1: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Elimination Round 2: 4:45 PM - 6:00 PM (if necessary)
Awards Ceremony: 6:30 PM (earlier if possible)
Why the Change?
Reduced Fatigue and Burnout: One of the primary reasons for this schedule change is to provide a shorter and more manageable day for all participants. The previous schedule, with multiple rounds squeezed into a single day, often led to fatigue and burnout, affecting the quality of performances and the overall experience. By spreading out the rounds and allowing for longer breaks, students can maintain their energy and focus, resulting in better performances.
Flexibility for Other Activities: We understand that many of our participants have commitments beyond our tournaments. The new schedule frees up more of their Saturday afternoon, allowing them to participate in other extracurricular activities or simply relax and recharge. This flexibility promotes a healthier work-life balance for students and coaches alike.
More Comprehensive Feedback: Longer rounds mean that judges can provide more in-depth feedback to participants. They won't feel rushed between rounds, and this additional time can lead to more constructive critiques, helping students improve their skills. Quality feedback is essential for growth in speech and debate, and we're committed to providing an environment that fosters improvement.
True Semi-Finals: In the past, we often had to resort to festival-style finals due to time constraints. With the extended schedule, we can now hold true semi-finals, giving participants a fair opportunity to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level. This change aligns with our commitment to fairness and excellence in forensics.
Enhanced Judge Experience: Our judges play a crucial role in our tournaments. By providing them with a more manageable schedule, we ensure that they have adequate time to evaluate performances and deliver thoughtful feedback. A better judge experience ultimately benefits our participants.
Improved Overall Experience: Overall, this new schedule aims to improve the quality of our tournaments for everyone involved. We believe that a well-paced, efficient, and accommodating schedule will lead to more enjoyable and rewarding experiences for students, coaches, judges, and spectators.
At National Online Forensics, we are committed to continually enhancing the tournament experience for our community. We believe that this schedule change is a significant step in the right direction, aligning with our values of fairness, excellence, and student well-being. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
